Identify the PCM application
Include the vehicle year, make, model, engine, transmission when relevant, PCM part number and calibration or programming history. Note whether the PCM is original, replaced or previously opened.
PCM repair by mail
PCM requests often combine engine symptoms, sensor codes, output faults and replacement-module questions. The module is reviewed against the vehicle record so a repair estimate is based on the actual unit received rather than a generic code list.
Include the vehicle year, make, model, engine, transmission when relevant, PCM part number and calibration or programming history. Note whether the PCM is original, replaced or previously opened.
Provide the active and history codes, repeat-code behavior, no-start or drivability details, and confirmed vehicle-side testing. For injector, coil or output complaints, identify the affected circuit and the test already performed.
A PCM may be evaluated for repair, testing, cloning compatibility or programming depending on its condition and the requested outcome. The technician does not assume that a used replacement module will match the vehicle without inspection.
The diagnostic checkout covers intake, identification, applicable communication review, visible inspection and estimate preparation. The final repair recommendation and invoice are provided after the PCM has been reviewed.
Before shipping
The PCM must be reviewed first; module condition, application and fault evidence determine the available service path.
Include order information, contact details, a fault summary and the PCM only, unless additional items are requested.
